FY2024 RATE CASE

Over the past several years, GSWA has strived to provide efficient and reliable waste management services while maintaining affordable rates for our customers. However, to ensure sustainability, we find it necessary to petition the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) for a rate increase to address the rising costs associated with operating and continuing GSWA programs such as regulatory compliance priorities, funding the Ordot post-closure care, landfill cell closures and development, debt service payments, and equipment replacements.

On or around July 2023, GSWA will submit its rate increase proposal to the PUC. The rate increases will be implemented gradually over the next five years to minimize the impact on our customers. We understand that any change in rates can cause concerns, but it is crucial to acknowledge the long-term benefits these enhancements will bring to our island.
